Recommendations include raising awareness across sectors on cybersecurity risks and gaps – an issue CoESS is working on in cooperation with Euralarm.
The European Court of Auditors’ key objective is to improve EU financial management and acts as the independent guardian of the financial interests of the citizens of the Union. As part of this role, the EU agency published in March 2019 a briefing paper providing an overview of the EU’s cybersecurity policy framework and identifying respective gaps. Recommendations focus not only on the policy landscape, but also funding and spending on cybersecurity, cyber-resilience, and effective response to cyber incidents. In this regards, the report recommends:
The CoESS Monitoring and Remote Surveillance Committee is pro-actively working in close cooperation with Euralarm and will publish a guidance document on cybersecurity later this year.
