CoESS SUMMIT

The 7th European Security Summit - 10 October 2024

Mark your calendars and Register: The 7th European Security Summit deepdives into PPPs

The European Security Summit returns for its 7th edition, diving deep into the critical topic of  Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in European Security. Following the succesful 6th Summit in Rome, held in collaboration with ConFederSicurezza, this year's event promises to build on the discussions and insights from the past, particularly around "The Security Continuum".

This year's summit is organised in conjunction with the Nederlandse Veiligheidsbranche (NV). The event will take place in The Hague, the heart of European justice and security, home to EUROPOL and EUROJUST.

While the final programme is being polished, we are excited to share some of the key features:

  • An Opening Session chaired by Journalist Maaike Schoon and featuring Jan van Zanen, Mayor of the municipality of The Hague, and a Keynote Speech by Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg, The National Coordinator for Security & Counterterrorism (NCTV) in the Netherlands. Both the CoESS and NV Chairmen will then present the new White Paper on Public-Private Partnerships.
  • A keynote session with representatives of Europol, the Deputy Director General of DG HOME, Olivier Onidi and the Chief of Police of the Netherlands, Janny Knol.
  • Two sessions, respectively addressing:
    • The situation of PPPs across Europe, with a focus on several countries at various stages of cooperation, and looking into the role of private security in the public space.
    • PPPs in Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), obstacles and solutions to better cooperation and exchange of information including some concrete examples in key sectors of the economy.

As a highlight of the summit, attendees are invited to a dinner at the renowned Mauritshuis museum. Enjoy an exclusive evening surrounded by masterpieces from Vermeer and other celebrated artists. Please note that the number of participants in the dinner is limited and we will welcome registrations on a first come first served basis.
