The Belgian Ministry of Interior organised on 21 November the first European Private Security Roundtable. In the run-up to the Belgian EU Council Presidency, the meeting assembled the national regulatory authorities of EU Member States, the European Commission and a CoESS delegation to discuss diverse matters such as better regulation, public procurement, tackling labour shortages, public-private partnerships, the transposition of the CER Directive and the integration of new technologies.
CoESS highly welcomed the initiative of the Belgian government and a fruitful exchange to promote a good collaboration between the sector and public authorities. The meeting is a follow-up to a Council Recommendation from 2002 and an initiative that CoESS has called for since many years. CoESS therefore hopes for a successful continuation of this exchange in the years to come.
