During the Euralarm General Assembly, which took place this year on 19 September in Zotermeer / the Netherlands, CoESS was invited to join the colleagues from the fire safety industry to discuss the challenge of labour and skills shortages in both industries. Alexander Frank, Head of EU Affairs at CoESS, took the opportunity to present to panellists the outcomes of the EU-funded Social Partner project “INTEL: Skills Intelligence for the Private Security Services”.
In the framework of the INTEL project, CoESS and UNI Europa, EU Social Partners for the Private Security Services, conducted a 2-year research into current and future labour and skills shortages in the private security industry. At the end of the project, the Social Partners published together a best practice study of Social Partners and companies across Europe, of which Alexander Frank gave an overview. At the meeting, both Euralarm and CoESS underlined their commitment to continue their dialogue on this important matter which impacts both industries. CoESS likewise thanked Euralarm and its Dutch member Federatie Veilig Nederland for their hospitality.
