Malta joins CoESS: A warm welcome the the Maltese Private Security Association (MPSA)

The Confederation of European Security Services (CoESS) is delighted to announce that the Maltese Private Security Association (MPSA) has officially joined our network as of November 2024. With this addition, Malta becomes the 23rd country represented within CoESS, further strenghtening our collective efforts to enhance private security standards across Europe.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Axisa, Secretary General of MPSA, at our General Assembly in The Hague in October 2024, where we discussed the evolving landscape of private security and the shared commitment to the industry excellence. And last week, both Mr. Chetcuti, Vice-President of MPSA, and Mr. Axisa joined us in Brussels for the Sectoral Social Dialogue meeting. The MPSA his membership marks a significant step towards greater collaboration and knowledge exchange between the security sector in Malta and its European counterparts.

Established in 2024, the MPSA represents licensed private security companies and Private Guard Agencies (PGAs) operating in Malta and Gozo. Despite being a newly formed association, MPSA has already made strides in engaging with government officials and addressing key industry challenges, particularly in employment and policy matters. With seven funding members employing around 4.000 personnel, the association is dedicated to advocating for the interests of its members and fostering a more robust security industry in Malta.

The decision of MPSA to join CoESS reflects a strong commitment to international cooperation and the continuous improvement of private security standards. We look forward to working closely with MPSA in the years ahead, exchanging best practices, and advancing our shared goals.
